Rev. Dr. Jaime Clark-Soles serves as Associate Professor of New Testament at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Her particular areas of expertise include The Johannine literature (the Gospel of John, 1, 2, and 3 John, and Revelation); evil, suffering, death, and afterlife; the Bible and disability; and the use of the Bible in moral debate. She appears in the new documentary film Hellbound? produced by Kevin Miller (hellboundthemovie.com).
Her most recent book, Engaging the Word: The New Testament and the Christian Believer, exposes readers to some of the “hot topics” in New Testament study and why they matter for everyday faith. She “has Bible, will travel,” so speaks widely (and, on her best days, listens just as widely). She writes for workingpreacher.org and appears in the Johannine videos in the Disciple Bible Study series. She serves on the editorial board of Feasting on the Gospels (WJK) and is the New Testament editor for the forthcoming Omega Covenant Bible Study (Abingdon).
As an ordained American Baptist minister, Rev. Clark-Soles has served in both parish and hospice settings. When not pondering the bible and culture, she’s at the gym playing racquetball and is sponsored by Ektelon, a division of Prince Sports.
