The Reverend Dr. Randall K. Bush

The Rev. Dr. Randall K. Bush is the pastor of East Liberty Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, PA. In August 1997, Dr. Bush began his Ph.D. studies at Marquette University in the area of Theology & Ethics. After completing the coursework and comprehensive exams he wrote his dissertation, "The Possibility of Contemporary Prophetic Acts," under the direction of Dr. Christine Firer-Hinze. It focused on the paradigm of Jeremiah's prophetic acts, the ethics of Paul Tillich and William Schweiker, and the prophetic acts of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Bush received his Ph.D. in May 2003. As Adjunct Professor at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Dr. Bush taught courses in Comparative Religion and Christian Ethics. He has published articles in seven theological journals (Theological Studies, Theology Today, Koinonia Journal, Christian Century, Journal for Preachers, Lectionary Homiletics, and Reformed Worship) and two music journals.

Over the years he has been a frequent performer with the Racine Symphony Orchestra, performing the complete works for piano and orchestra of George Gershwin, two concerti by J.S. Bach, and the Grieg piano concerto.

His wife Beth, whom he married in July 1997, is a singer/actress, who has performed and directed with six theatre/musical theatre groups in Milwaukee and Racine. They are the proud parents of two children, Ian and Charlotte.
