This is Where We Used to Pray

On Oct. 29th, Hurricane Sandy barreled through the New York area, hitting the Rockaway peninsula especially hard. West End Temple, a fixture in the Neponsit section of the Rockaways since it was founded in 1939, was flooded with up to five feet of water on its first floor, buckling its floors and ruining much of the interior. Odyssey Networks spent a day with temple leaders and volunteers as they began the process of digging out, and moving forward.

Thank you for sharing your story. I am glad that Temple Sinai in Colorado could support your efforts financially. We also support you with prayers and loving thoughts as you gather together to rebuild and rededicate. You are all amazing.
